New Brunswick’s Weight in Motion

8 March 2010 No Comment

New Brunswick government announces $500,000 in funding for new Weigh in Motion technology on the Trans-Canada Highway eastbound at Salisbury.  Weigh in Motion allows transport trucks to be weighed at highway speeds, resulting in a reduced number of trucks reporting to static scales, which in turn reduces fuel consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and operating costs. The government estimates that the project will reduce 4,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually.  (New Brunswick Business Journal article, 8.03.10)
