Thermal Water Treatment Technology for Mines

8 March 2010 No Comment

The Buchanan Mine, one of the largest underground coal mines in the U.S, will receive GE’s advanced filtration membranes and thermal water treatment technology, which will treat the mine water and enable about 99 per cent of it to be reused.  The new system will significantly reduce freshwater demand as well as the volume of mine water that must be managed.  (Water Technology Online News Release, 05.03.10)
